For the price you can’t grumble. One thing I can say is the dial is inaccurate, if you want a temp of 22 you need to set to 24.

The products works fine, but it has a very short mains lead (a miserly 91cm long), which means that most people will have to mess around with extension leads. This take the edge off an otherwise good value for money product.

Fluval Edge Heater, 23 Feb 2011
    By

This review is from: Fluval Edge 25w Heater (Misc.)
I have mixed opinions about this product.

The product has a very sleek design and matches the tank well and sometimes it appears almost invisible if it wasn’t for the red light on it. However, I noticed that one thing it claims to live up to that it doesn’t is its fixed “26 degrees” thermostat. This is simply not true and I have learnt that instead, it just simply raises the temperature of the water by 2 degrees of the starting temperature. Also, with the combination of the Fluval Edge Aquarium light, the heater and a warm house, the temperature can reach up to 28-29 degrees which got me worried at first. My solution was to turn the heater off when the lights are on and vice versa – But I simply shouldn’t have to do this and the product description definitely doesn’t state that either.

This heater looks fantastic in the Fluval Edge Nano aquarium, especially if you have the black one because it is almost invisible against the back of the tank. Unfortunately,it just doesn’t do the job. Fluval make great products (the Edge tank is superb), but this heater is a real let down. A temperature fluctuation of + or_ 5 degrees is not acceptable for a heater which costs [...]. Now I have to go looking for another heater and go through the hassle of returning this one. I should have listened to the other reviewer. Don’t buy it.

Consider your options, 4 Jan 2011

While the design of this heater is great for the Fluvel Edge tank, it hasn’t lived up to it performance for maintaining the heat of the water at 26 degrees.

The fluctuations in the temperature are ridiculous. My tank regularly drops to around 15-18 degrees and I think this has had detrimental effect on my fish. Several have died over the past few months (I’m almost certain it’s not disease related).

I would seriously consider your options when choosing your heater.
