I was a bit nervous about buying this as some of the reviews were dodgy, but I needed something, ANYTHING, to clean the gravel, so gave it a whirl. I’m actually very happy with it. Some of the negative comments are correct, it IS brittle – so treat it like an aged aunt & it’s fine. It DOESN’T suck very hard – that’s probably a good thing as the fish are quite inquisitive about it & may otherwise take a trip they hadn’t bargained for! The suction tube DOES move – tape it & that solves that problem, etc etc. Incidentally, the little bag on mine hasn’t popped off at all, so I haven’t found that to be a problem as some have.
I agree with the reviewer who says that with a few minor design tweaks, this could be a very good product. I find it works best if I plonk it into the gravel & then give it a few small, circular movements, just enough to create a vortex inside. They you can watch all manner of poo & rubbish swirl round & disappear up the tube into the bag. Very satisfying, I find it a great stress reliever, but maybe I need to get out more!
Learn to use it gently & with patience & it will do exactly what it says on the tin.

This is great, I had tried to clean my gravel with one of those siphon cleaners but unless you’ve got about 3 hands and good arm muscles they are too hard. this is great though, just turn it on and away you go. It’s not massively powerful, but I liked that cos I didn’t want to suck up any of my Fry. Does a lovely job.

I have not had any problems with it, cleans the gravel, traps the muck and gets into awkward places
